Highlights from our last wedding at Plaza De Magdalena.
About the Venue: In the heart of Downtown San Juan Capistrano, California, the Plaza de Magdalena is a top So Cal wedding destination that offers a touch of rustic Spanish style with modern amenities. Couples start their journey together walking through the traditional wrought-iron gates that lead into a hidden urban paradise. Nestled between Los Angeles and San Diego, out-of-town guests only have a short walk from the Amtrak station to the stairs leading down into the garden patio and courtyard at the Plaza de Magdalena.
The Magdalena Room. Couples looking for an indoor location for their nuptials love the Magdalena Room at the Plaza de Magdalena. Set up to accommodate 50 to 229 guests, the room features a state-of-the-art audio/visual and lighting system. The room has an attached suite with a private entrance and bathroom. This area is ideal for the wedding party to use while preparing for the ceremony.
The Courtyard. A spacious, open air location, complete with a magnificent copper waterfall, the Courtyard is one of the Plaza de Magdalena’s most popular sites. The maximum capacity of this outdoor site is 60 seated and 180 standing.
What You Should Know
Plaza de Magdalena is an exclusive destination. Dates fill fast, and to prevent late cancellations, a nonrefundable deposit of 20 percent of the estimated total balance is required to make a reservation. The second payment of 30 percent of the balance is due 60 days in advance, and the final balance must be paid 10 days before the event. All taxes, alcohol and a 20 percent service charge are not included in the price of the package.
Sundried Tomato American Bistros & Catering is available on site to provide incredible, first-class dining services. Couples who choose the Courtyard location dine on this cuisine under the sparkling market lights. A dance area is standard with all venues, and outside entertainment is allowed. Couples should check with event staff before signing a contract with any vendor, because all vendors are required to have liability insurance. Amplified music is allowed indoors and outdoors, but some restrictions apply.
